New things for the new year

Now I don’t know about you, but I really couldn’t help myself in the Boxing Day sales this year. Although the majority of the sales started before Christmas. I still hit the shops, and online, following the big day to grab myself a bargain or two. Plus that fact that it was my birthday just before Christmas, means I have a lot of newness to share. So here are some of my new things for the New Year.

New things for the new year | Merry Musing

Now just before Christmas I treated myself to a new phone. And while some people might have left the Apple bandwagon a long time ago. I’m still a huge Apple fan, which is why there was only one phone I was going to get. And that was the iPhone XS. And I’m so pleased I did! The camera is amazing, the full screen is insane and the battery life is so much better than the old iPhone 7 I was using.

Now I’m sure it won’t come as a shock to those who know me, that I picked up a bag or two this year. I know, because I need another bag right? But I couldn’t help myself. Bags are my weakness and I wanted to reward myself for working hard this year, and achieving some pretty big goals. So I invested in another two Mulberry bags Yes two. Now if you’ve read this post, you’ll know that I’m a Mulberry girl at heart. Which is why there was only one place I wanted to go to pick up a new piece of arm candy. And I happen to pick up the taupe Lily bag with silver hardware at the Mulberry shop at Bicester Village. And then the navy with the silver hardware in the John Lewis sale.

Now, despite being a beauty blogger at heart, no-one actually buys me any beauty or makeup products for my birthday or Christmas. So I usually end up treating myself to some new beauty bits. Because we all need new makeup for the New Year, right? Well this year, I decided to treat myself to some new bits from The Queen that is Charlotte Tilbury. And picked up a new foundation, concealer, primer, powder, mascara and eyeshadow stick.

Now finally, let’s get onto new fashion bits. My number one request this year was for new lounge wear. I do realise that this is probably a sign that I’m getting old. But all I want is nice, soft, comfy clothes that I can lounge around the house in. And that is what I got. The gorgeous sleepy head jumper and spotty bottoms are from Oasis, and the navy star and spotty bottoms and navy top are from Marks and Spencer. And both of them are just as comfy as they look.

Now I know what you’re thinking, that’s a lot of new things for the New Year. And you’re right! But I love reading these type of posts and hope you’ve enjoyed reading through all the new things I’ve got for the New Year.

Good on you for treating yourself, some indulgences there. I want to treat myself to some of the new Charlotte Tilbury items but I want to wait until I’ve used up some more bits first x

I agree with you on the camera on the new iPhone. I recently upgraded to the XR and I love the features like portrait and studio view.
