I think it’s fair to say that when it comes to money. I like it where I can see it. And that normally means on my arm in the form of a designer bag. Some people choose to spend their money on exotic holidays, fancy cars or red soled shoes. Me? I like to spend my money on designer bags. And more specifically Mulberry bags.
I guess you could say the love affair started way back in 2010. I’d just landed my first proper job in London after finishing University. And I wanted to mark the occasion with something special. Now some people may have gone out for a few drinks to celebrate a new job. But I decided to treat myself to a bag I’d lusted after. And that was this plum Bayswater. It was definitely love at first sight when I spotted this limited edition colour.
And even back in 2010 it was a lot of money. My only regret with this bag is that the goat’s leather hasn’t worn as well as I would have liked. But to be fair to the bag, I probably used it everyday for a good few years. And I still use it now when I need a big bag to put everything in. I still love the colour and I honestly think this bag will always hold a special place in my heart.
Since that first bag, I’d added five more additions to my Mulberry bag collection. Plus a makeup bag, card holder, passport holder, bracelet and keyring. I told you the obsession was real! But this post is focused on my three favourite pieces. Now you may have seen this bag in my recent Boxing Day Sales post. And yes as my newest piece is it probably my current favourite. But I just love how this bag seems to go with every outfit.
This is the Medium Lily in Taupe and I have to say I absolutely love the size of the bag. It’s perfect for everyday use as it fits in everything you need without being too heavy. Plus I love the chain options. It can either sit long and rest on my waist, or double up and sit underneath my arm. I just think this is such a classic bag, in terms of the design and colour.
So much of my clothing is moving towards a black, grey and taupe palette so, the colour of this bag matches me perfectly! I’ve only had this bag for a month or two, so it does still look new. But I’m hopeful that it won’t lose it’s shape too much over the coming years.
And my final favourite Mulberry piece is the Continental Wallet in Metallic Mushroom. Which is again another limited edition colour. But I absolutely love the cracked gold and almost iridescent look to it. I’m such a fan of bigger purses anyway, so this is perfect for me.
It manages to hold all my cards and change without losing shape. And it also fits into my bag nicely – which it didn’t in my previous one! My only regret is that I didn’t get a bigger bag in this colour as it’s honestly my favourite colour of theirs so far.
What do you think of these Mulberry pieces? Are you a fan of designer bags?
As always thank you to Kaye for taking these pictures!
