I don’t know about you. But a big part of my pamper routine is applying a face mask. Whether that’s a sheet mask, clay mask or a mud mask. I’m all about that mask life. And one of the newest ones I’ve tried is this one – The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Mask. And it’s lovely. It’s been made specifically for those of us with oily skin that need an extra level of purification for a healthy, youthful glow, while drawing out impurities and refining our pores.
It’s been inspired by Ayurvedic traditions and is 100% vegan. With a mix of bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and organic tea tree oil. This mask leaves your skin tingling – but in a good way! The bamboo charcoal works to draw out skin impurities and excess oils from the skin. While the green tea leaves are rich in antioxidants and catechins to effectively exfoliate the skin. And the tea tree oil will help keep your skin looking and feeling clearer.
Now you can apply this mask with your fingers, like other masks. But personally I love to use the matching brush. It just makes the whole process a lot easier, less messy and you can get a nice even layers across your face. With long tapered bristles and a slated edge, this brush is fab for applying to all areas of the face. You only need to leave the mask on the skin for about 5-10 minutes until the mud has dried. Although you can use this two or three times a week – I tend to stick to using this just once. Twice if my skin is in desperate need of some TLC.
I find that once I’ve used this mask, my skin just looks and feels so much healthy. It refines my pores, purifies my skin and just adds a healthy glow to my complexion. It’s become a firm favourite in my face mask draw. And one that I can’t live without now.
