I don’t know about everyone else, but I can spend an obscene amount of time (and money) shopping. It’s definitely a special skill I have. And probably one of my favourite things to do at the weekend. Especially when I’m shopping for new makeup. And more specially, drugstore makeup. Which is what I was doing a few weeks ago at the Marble Arch Superdrug shop. Which not only has so much makeup to choose from and a better selection of brands than my small local store. But it also has a beauty studio!
It means you can get your brows done, while you shop for a new mascara. How amazing is that? But it’s not just brows you can get done. Some Superdrug stores also offer waxing and nail bars. For me I decided to take advantage and get my brows done before shopping for some new makeup bits. Because you know, I can’t turn down an opportunity to shop for new makeup. Here’s what I picked up:
I’m not sure this purchase really needs an explanation. I mean look how pretty it is! I’m aware that I’m not young enough, or cool enough, to pull this off. But I really couldn’t turn it down! I love the fact that you can use your brush to swipe across all six colours for a bold magical glow. Or you can just swirl in one area for a natural shimmer.
I also picked up this highlighting quad from Lottie. I have a real thing for highlighters at the moment. Can you tell?! But I do think this is great value for money. You get four really blendable powder highlighters in four really wearable colours.
Revlon Colorstay Crème Eye Shadow £6.99 each
Now I think we all know how much I love a cream eyeshadow. I’m still obsessed with the Chanel ones I picked up a few weeks ago. But these Revlon ones are a great drugstore alternative. There are quite a few colours to choose from and I picked up two of them. Praline on the left and Black Currant on the right. And I love them both!
Now there were quite a few new releases in Superdrug but this one stood out for me the most. I mean just look at how pretty the packaging is! I’ve not seen too much about this collaboration before. But the campaign is fronted by Rochelle Humes and features six products. And I picked up two of them – the mascara and the highlighter.
Now the mascara is the regular false lash effect mascara that I love. Just with snazzy new packaging. Which I love! But the highlighter is new for me. And I have to say I love the mini applicator that comes with it. It’s perfect for precision application, it’s easy to blend with your fingers or a brush. And it leaves a gorgeous shimmery finish on the skin.
What do you think of the products I picked up in Superdrug? What makeup items are on your current wish list?
