My four favourite at home workouts

home workouts

Happy Friday everyone! Now I don’t know about you, but sometimes I can really struggle to find the time for the gym. I can start the week well, with grand plans of hitting the gym at least three times a week. But then life gets in the way. Work takes over and last minute drink and dinner invites pop up. It’s tough right? Which is why, even if I can’t get myself. I try to do a home workout. Going to the gym can take up about two hours of my time when you factor in travel, changing etc. But a home workout? Well I can that done in half the time. So if you’re looking to save time and money by doing a at home workouts. Then here are my four favourite at home workouts.

I don’t know about you, but I use the internet for pretty much every aspect of my life. From ordering food and clothes shopping to finding a date and booking a holiday, the internet has so many uses. And finding a free workout is another great use. Just make sure you have the right workout clothes. For me, I tend to stick to gym leggings and a t-shirt. And I can’t live without my Nike Air Max trainers.

Now don’t let the name put you off, this is a killer workout. But if you like hard workouts with a pop soundtrack with an upbeat trainer, then this is for you. Plus along with the free workouts, you can also use her meal plans for inspirations.

Tone It Up
Tone It Up is another great site with workouts, food guides and inspiration a plenty. The guides are not free but they do have online workout videos and printouts that you can follow for free. And if their bodies are anything to go by, this is definitely one to invest in. Especially have the most amazing smoothie recipes. And if you need cheap food processors and blenders, then TJ Hughes have you covered.

As well as finding great workouts online, you can also find them on your smartphone or tablets. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of workout apps around, but these two I really like:

Sweat with Kayla
Now I’m sure you’ve all seen her videos pop up on your Facebook. Mine seem to be inundated with them! But Kayla Itsines has released an app for her infamous Bikini Body Guides, called Sweat with Kayla. The app is completely free to download but you do need to buy the guide via the app in order to use the app. I really like that the app has so many different workouts including LISS, Legs, Arms & Abs or Full Body. And what’s better is that the app ticks how many days you’ve done cardio, and how many days you’ve done resistance so that you can keep track.

7 Minute Workout
This app is perfect for those of us who really don’t have a lot of spare time. As who hasn’t got a spare seven minutes to workout? The 7 minute workout is a HIIT workout using your bodyweight, a chair and a wall to give you a full body workout. And it’s only 7 minutes because you give each move your all for just 30 seconds, going as hard and as fast as you possibly can. Then rest for 10 seconds before going on to the next move.

I’ve done most of these Sworkit is an okay app. Can modify your own workouts and it shows you how to do it etc. I like to do weight training x

If I’m limited on time (and motivation) I’ll usually just get a quick HIIT routine at home. Will check out the ones you’ve recommended though as I could do with some new ideas!

While I love going to the gym when I’m at uni (it’s only a 2-minute walk away so I have no excuse not to) when I’m living at my mums I live by blogilates, and while I’ve tried other workout apps/videos no one gets me more energised for a workout than Casey. I also mix in doing the Charlotte Crosby Belly Bitz once every couple of weeks just to spice things up.

At the moment the extent of my home workout regime revolves around the Wii Fit! Will definitely have a look at some of these recommendations.

Not tried any of these but I like the sound of the 7 minute work-out, I could cope with that!

  12. June 26, 2017 / 3:40 pm

I gave up on at home workouts a while ago, but it’s good to know there are so many options to squeeze in a good workout even if time is tight.

  13. June 26, 2017 / 7:24 pm

I used to watch Blogalaties but She has way too much energy made me feel like I wasn’t doing so great I keep meaning to do exercise but I feel so tired all the time *sob*

  14. June 26, 2017 / 9:22 pm

I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE Blogilates before I got sick! Now my workout consists of physiotherapy, and a special fibromyalgia workout haha. I love your water bottle btw! x

  15. June 26, 2017 / 11:13 pm

I will have to give these all a try – with a young baby I can’t get out much to exercise so need something from home that I can do

  16. June 26, 2017 / 11:23 pm

I actually have a post going up soon about my workouts but I get inspiration from Pinterest & Other workouts I’ve done in the past & create my own suited workout plan for me 🙂 (at home ofc)

  17. June 26, 2017 / 11:27 pm

The seven minute workout would be good for my mummy as she doesn’t have a lot of time and interval training would be best for her!

  18. June 26, 2017 / 11:29 pm

I am terrible when it comes to at home workouts, but I have not tried any of these and they seem really fun, yet hard work! Thank you for recommending these, I will be checking them out x
