Summer is hopefully making an extended appearance very soon. But with sunshine comes the need to get the tootsies out as we slip our feet into our new sandals and flip flops. And seeing as my feet have been in boots and socks for the past 10 months, salon pedicures are out of the question. I need to get my feet up to an acceptable standard before I let a stranger touch them! Which is why I thought I share my tips on how to get summer ready feet at home.
1. Scrub the life out of your feet
I’m a big fan of foot scrubs. It’s amazing how a little scrub can go a long way in making your feet feel and look sandal ready. And I love this one from Bomb Cosmetics. The Dr Foot Foot Scrub is a lovely refreshing scrub with moisturising Shea Butter and Sunflower oil. Plus the added Black pepper and Lemongrass Essential Oils Also help to condition tired feet. To apply, simply scoop out a small amount of the scrub and massage it into your feet in circular movements before washing it off.
2. Tidy up your nails
If you’re anything like them then your feet won’t have been probably cared for, for a few months now. So it’s time to dig out the cutters and files to tidy your toes up ready for flip flop and sandal season. And some of my favourite nail trimmer out there are these super cute ones from the Vintage Cosmetic Company. How cute are these? I love the design and they’re so lovely to use.
Once you’ve filled and scrubbed your feet, it’s time to moisturise. And with 30% pure Shea butter, sunflower oil, peppermint and rosemary essential oils the Bomb Cosmetics Tippy Toes Foot Treatment is one of my favourites to use. It nourishes, conditions and moisturises my feet making them look a lot healthier and more acceptable to wear in sandals and flip flops!
4. Paint your tootsies
The final step in getting summer ready feet at home is to paint your toes. And I love the brightly coloured polishes from Morgan Taylor. Their formulas are great, they last ages on my nails and I love this hot pink colour.
