How much do you spend on makeup?

How much do you spend on makeup?

Now I’ll admit that I’m a complete beauty addict. I love nothing more than treating myself to a new lipstick, eye shadow palette or makeup brush come pay day. Because you know, I deserve it right? It was only after having a chat with some non beauty obsessive friends that I realise I probably spend more than the average person. Having thought that I probably spent no more than about £25 a month. I’ve actually worked out I probably spend about three times that. THREE TIMES THAT! That’s a lot to spend on makeup each month isn’t it? Especially considering I’m lucky enough to receive quite a bit from PRs who send me samples of new launches.

But what would be a normal amount? If I earned £100 a month, then spending three quarters of my wage on makeup would be too much right? But I don’t earn a £100 a month, in fact the amount I spend on makeup is a tiny percentage of my monthly wage. So does that make it OK? I will say that the majority of my money goes into savings each month. As I’ve previously written about, I’m desperately trying to get on the property ladder this year. And as I live at home, I’m able to save about 65% of my wages every month. And then once I’ve paid my direct debits and bills the money I have left over is mine to do with as I please.

So where do I shop for my beauty bits? Well most of the time it’s in Boots – as you may have noticed from my many Boots hauls! But if I’m repurchasing an item or just want to find the best deal for an item, then I shop on the web. And one of my favourite websites to use is  If you’ve not used this site before then you really need to! They have so many discount offers available that will save you money on almost all of the beauty products. I mean who doesn’t love saving money when shopping for new beauty bits? After all the more money you save, the more you have to spend – well that’s my logic anyway!

Sometimes I choose to spend that money on clothes and bags, sometimes I’ll save up for a big holiday. But seeing as I did two pretty big bag purchases not too long ago, and I only have a short weekend break planned for this year. I think the majority of my money will continue to be spent on beauty products! So expect lots of new beauty bits on my blog ad YouTube channel over the next few months!

How much do you spend on makeup? What beauty products do you spend the most money on? Do you use any money saving websites to get your beauty bits?

This is exactly what I say to myself every time I want to purchase something, I work hard so I deserve it!!! My obsession is lipsticks, I cannot say no to another lipstick even though my collection is huge but I just cannot help it! x

I’m the same! I totally think I haven’t spent that much on makeup but at the end of the month I total it up and it’s always loads

I spend about $50 bucks every 3 months on makeup. It just depends on what I’m replacing.

I find it hard to say. Sometimes i’m budget buying, sometimes i spoil myself. I’d say i don’t even buy monthly and mostly bulk buy. I’m not big into beauty, but still like having the essentials and do look forward to getting something new 🙂 x

I think I spend about £25 a month on make up / beauty but never counted it and I don’t think i want to. I know it will be more. Maybe it will average out at about £40 a month over 12 months. Nope not thinking about it!! haha There is too much temptation x

I am also trying to get on the property ladder this year too so trying to save what I can. I hardly ever buy makeup so for me I would say anything between £0-£10

I spend the most money on foundation. I think its really important to have a great base. if we’re talking all beauty products though then I spend the most on my skincare xxx

I don’t spend a lot of money on make-up, I didn’t wear makeup everyday only when I’m going to somewhere and 2times a week only.

I spend way more money than I should on make up probably £100-125 per month but I can afford to do so so while I can I don’t feel too bad about it x

I actually spend very little to nothing on makeup as I don’t wear it. Just the occasional lipstick for company parties.

Boots is a great place to get some high street beauties. I also shop at independent organic brands, mostly online.

I don’t buy often but if I see something at a discounted price I might just go ahead and buy it.
