Now I’ll admit that I’m a complete beauty addict. I love nothing more than treating myself to a new lipstick, eye shadow palette or makeup brush come pay day. Because you know, I deserve it right? It was only after having a chat with some non beauty obsessive friends that I realise I probably spend more than the average person. Having thought that I probably spent no more than about £25 a month. I’ve actually worked out I probably spend about three times that. THREE TIMES THAT! That’s a lot to spend on makeup each month isn’t it? Especially considering I’m lucky enough to receive quite a bit from PRs who send me samples of new launches.
But what would be a normal amount? If I earned £100 a month, then spending three quarters of my wage on makeup would be too much right? But I don’t earn a £100 a month, in fact the amount I spend on makeup is a tiny percentage of my monthly wage. So does that make it OK? I will say that the majority of my money goes into savings each month. As I’ve previously written about, I’m desperately trying to get on the property ladder this year. And as I live at home, I’m able to save about 65% of my wages every month. And then once I’ve paid my direct debits and bills the money I have left over is mine to do with as I please.
So where do I shop for my beauty bits? Well most of the time it’s in Boots – as you may have noticed from my many Boots hauls! But if I’m repurchasing an item or just want to find the best deal for an item, then I shop on the web. And one of my favourite websites to use is beautyspin.co.uk. If you’ve not used this site before then you really need to! They have so many discount offers available that will save you money on almost all of the beauty products. I mean who doesn’t love saving money when shopping for new beauty bits? After all the more money you save, the more you have to spend – well that’s my logic anyway!
Sometimes I choose to spend that money on clothes and bags, sometimes I’ll save up for a big holiday. But seeing as I did two pretty big bag purchases not too long ago, and I only have a short weekend break planned for this year. I think the majority of my money will continue to be spent on beauty products! So expect lots of new beauty bits on my blog ad YouTube channel over the next few months!
