Getting holiday ready #HolidayHype

#holidayhype

It’s that time of year again, the sun may not be shining at home but I don’t mind – I’m off on holiday next week! To say I’m excited is an understatement. I’ve been planning, dreaming and thinking about this trip non stop for the past few months. It might not come as too much of a surprise but I love going on holiday. I love the excitement of booking and planning the trip, then shopping and packing, before finally boarding the plane and getting to explore a new destination. Which is why I was a little sad to read that according to a YouGov survey 1 in 3 women worry about their weight every day they’re on holiday.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no skinny minnie on the beach but I don’t want to spend my whole holiday worrying about how big my bum looks in my bikini bottoms. After all, what’s the point in being on holiday if you can’t enjoy yourself and have fun? Now I wasn’t always like this. I can remember being 18 on my first holiday away with friends and feeling so fat in my size 10 bikini – yep I felt fat in a size 10 bikini! But even though I’m no longer a size 10, I don’t let the negativity or pressure to look ‘beach body’ ready get to me. Because I work too hard and spend too much time planning and organising my trips to let something as trivial as my weigh hold me back from enjoying my hard earned break.

To help me feel comfortable on holiday I treat myself to new holiday clothes each year. Clothes that I’m excited to wear, that flatter my shape and get me in the holiday mood. I know I won’t be able to drastically change my body in the weeks leading up to my holiday so I may as well treat myself to some lovely clothes that fit well and look good and make me feel good about myself and my shape.

What do you do to get holiday ready and enjoy the #HolidayHype.

Totally agree! I know I feel this way when I go on holiday but I should probably worry less about what I look like and just enjoy my holiday. Good fitting clothes can make you feel great anyway! Sophie x
