With just over a week to go until the big day, I’m sure your house is well and truly on the way to looking like Santa’s grotto. Well mine is anyway. I have trees, garlands and decorations everywhere. And about a mile’s worth of lights on the outside of my house, lighting up my place for the whole street, and probably the next one as well, to see. But that’s what Christmas is about right? Well one of the newest decorations to be added to this year’s festive collection is this lovely Christmas jar that I made myself. Yes you did read that right. I made it myself and I’m honestly so pleased with it!
Back at the end of November, I was invited by House of Fraser along to their Victoria Street store to get crafty with the London Craft Club and also enjoy an afternoon tea in their Tea Room. It was an amazing afternoon and I love the chance to get crafty and create this gorgeous Christmas Jar. Now, although I like to think I’m the crafty creative type, I seem to have trouble translating those ideas into reality. Truth be told, they never really turn out quite how I’d imagine they would. But this session was different. We had experts. Real craft experts thanks to the London Craft Club who helped every step of the way.
Now it’s actually surprisingly easy to make one of these Christmas Jars. All you need is a jar and some Christmas bits to fill the jar and decorations for the outside. For this one, we used a giant Kilner Jar, fairy lights for the inside along with some bronzed pine cones and gold bells. With the outside was decorated with this lovely star material and gold washi tape. Incredibly simple, but really effective when it’s dark.
