The products you need to apply fake tan like a pro

The products you need to apply fake tan like a pro

We’ve all been there, the sun has come out but your legs/arms/face are looking unbelievably pale and white. So what do we do? We grab the nearest bottle of fake tan and hope for the best right? Although we all hope to achieve a sun kissed glow, it can be really hard to get it right. Trust me. I’ve spent many years not quite mastering the art of applying fake tan but my mistakes are your gain. So let me share with you all the products you need to apply fake tan like a pro.

Now before you apply any fake tan it’s important to exfoliate. Now this might be an obvious step but you need to exfoliate beforehand to ensure your tan is nice and even. Personally I like to use a body scrub or a pair of exfoliating mitts. They just help give me a smooth skin base before I start applying fake tan. Following exfoliation, it’s time to moisturise. Now I do this to the areas that are prone to showing signs that your St Tropez glow might not be from the French Riviera. And now you’re ready to tan. So if you’re looking for the products you need to apply fake tan like a pro, here are my favourites:

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Face Sheet Masks £15

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Face Sheet Masks

Now this is just a genius product from St. Tropez. And probably the easiest way to achieve a natural healthy glow on your face. One of the things I find hardest with tanning. Is keeping the glow on my face. Your face will naturally fade faster due to the skincare creams and lotions you use. But this mask means you can top up your tan when needed. And the best bit is that you’re in control of the depth of your tan. Just leave it on for 5 minutes for a natural light glow, 10 minutes for a medium glow and 15 minutes for a deep tan.

St. Tropez instant tan 3-in-1 sculpt powder £12

St. Tropez instant tan 3-in-1 sculpt powder

Now I’m a bag fan of this beautiful powder. This is the new 3-in-1 Bronzing Powder from St Tropez that you can use to naturally enhance your complexion for a lovely glow. I love that you can also use this on your body to add an extra glow to your chest, arms or legs. Plus if you’re brave enough, you can even use this powder to add a little definition to your tum for sculpted abs.

Vita Liberata ten minute tan £29.95

Vita Liberata ten minute tan

Now this tan might be on the pricey side, but it’s worth it! This Vita Liberata tan delivers a perfect, natural golden tan within just 4-6 hrs but without the biscuit smell of other fake tans. Plus it doesn’t transfer onto your clothes or bed clothes. And best of all it leaves your skin looking and feeling softer, smoother and more hydrated.

Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser £14.99

Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser

I have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a product like this to launch. But now it’s here I can’t get enough of it. Although it’s dubbed as a self tan eraser. This Bondi Sands self tan eraser works best on a tan that is a couple of days old. Making the, sometimes painful, process of scrubbing off an old tan before applying a new one, a lot easier!

Now those masks sound right up my street! I only like a very light tan on my face, and use the St Tropez face oil as its nice and light. This mask sounds like a great alternative.

I actually don’t wear fake tan, I can’t stand the effort of trying to get an all over even tan and then wait for it to dry but I also sleep in white sheets so I don’t think it’d work out well for me haha! I have heard great things about the bondi sands stuff though!

My phone crashed so not sure if my original comment saved. I love the idea if the mask but I’m s bit scared if tanning products after a bad experience!!!

I haven’t ever had the need to use fake tan until I moved to England! My arms and face have some colour to them, but my legs, and well, the rest of me are so pasty! These do sound like the essentials to get a nice glow. x
