While Christmas may be the time for giving gifts and spending time with your family. Let’s be honest, it’s also the time to let your hair done and have fun with those closest to you. Which normally includes a party, or five. And if you’re anything like me, than half the fun of the party season is getting ready. I just love a good pamper. And if you want to truly pamper yourself this festive season then there’s only one place you need to head to. And that’s Harvey Nichols.
They’re experts in pampering. And I should know. I headed down to their newly opened Beauty Lounge a few weeks back to be well and truly pampered. And pampered I was. Not only did the lovely people at Hersheson’s make my hair look fab in just 30 minutes, I also got to have brow tidy up by the experts at Blink Brow Bar and get my nails painted by the fab nails Inc Team. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also an amazing range of services on offer from LED Facials and Vitamin Injections to lash extensions and body sculpting treatments.
But the Beauty Lounge is not all about treatments. On no, the beauty lounge extends into counters of some of the biggest brands in the beauty industry as well. Brands that I got to sample in the most amazing hamper courtesy of Harvey Nichols. I mean look how amazing this is! It was filled with products from some of my favourite brands including Dermalogica, Rodial, Nars and Giorgio Armani makeup.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (£41.75) and Precleanse (£34.35)
I’m a big fan of Dermalogica products and have to say I was really excited to see both of these in the hamper. I’ve used the Daily Microfoliant for years now and find that nothing else exfoliates my face quite like this. And the Precleanse is a fab first step in a double cleanse routine. Not only does it smell amazing but it helps to lift any debris from the skin’s surface meaning your cleanser can penetrate even further. Leaving you with a super cleansed face that you normally wouldn’t be able to achieve at home.
Rodial Bee Venom Cleansing Balm (£50), Snake Serum (£130) and Instaglam Compact Deluxe Banana Powder (£52)
Having heard so much about the Rodial skincare and makeup range, I couldn’t wait to give these goodies a go and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The Instaglam Banana Powder does exactly what it says. It corrects surface redness and pink undertones while neutralising blue under eye circles – it’s my new handbag essential! While the Cleansing Balm is a great second cleanser to use after the Dermalogica Precleanse. It smells beautiful and literally melts away your makeup and any dirt leaving your skin feeling super soft and improving the appearance of any uneven skin tone. And if you want real luxury skincare than look no further than the Snake Serum. It instantly boosts your complexion, giving you a gorgeous glow and healthy looking skin.
Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation (£37) and Lip Maestro (£27) and Nars Orgasm Blush (£23)
As a recent convert to the hype surrounding the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation I was really excited to get another bottle of this. Especially as this foundation is perfect for this time of year. It’s incredibly lightweight and the silky soft formula just seems to glide over my skin for a flawless coverage all day and night. And the Lip Maestro is in the most beautiful shade 513! The velvety soft texture leaves a soft but radiant finish on the lips. That leaves them looking plumper and lasts for a good six hours.
And the final product is probably my favourite blusher off all time. The iconic Nars Orgasm. But it’s not just a regular sized one. No this is a giant one, because you can never have enough of this blush right?
