Just like the Marc Jacobs Beauty Lolita Palette that I featured earlier this week, the By Terry Ombre Blackstar was another product on my makeup wishlist. In fact I’ve probably lusted over this for about a year or so. So when I visited Sephora last month in France I picked this up. Although you can get By Terry here in the UK, it was about £8 cheaper to buy this in France. I just wish I picked up a few more now!
The By Terry Ombre Blackstars have been cult favourites for a while now. And it’s easy to see why. I’m a big fan of cream eyeshadows anyway, but with oily lids, these kind of products don’t tend to last long on me. This one is different though. Once it’s on, it’s stays put for hours!
I picked up Ombre Mercure which is a gorgeous shimmery oyster colour. I actually wish I picked up a few more, but I’m so pleased I got this one. You can apply it all over the lids for a subtle everyday look. Or you can combine it with other shadows for a more dramatic effect. I find the staying power of this shadow is phenomenal. It’s unlike anything else I’ve tried before. And as already mentioned, I would normally need a primer before applying eyeshadow. But not for this. You have enough time to blend the shadow before it dries completely. But once it sets, it won’t move. The good news though is that when it comes to taking off, it comes off really easily.
Having finally picked this up, I can see what all the hype is about. I now have three on my wish list so I’m sure I’ll be adding to my collection very soon.
Have you tried the By Terry Ombre Blackstars before? What’s your favourite cream eyeshadow to use?
