I’ve never done a post like this before, but this is one of my favourite to read on other blogs so I thought I’d give it a go
Barry M Lychee £3.99
This has to be one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails at the moment. The off white colour really stands out on the nails and actually makes your hands appeared tanned. Amazing right? It’s also such a versatile and easy colour to wear.
Most of you who have read my previous posts on Barry M polishes will know my love for the brand is strong. They have such a long wearing formula that will last on my nails for a good five days and their Gelly range ensures that my nails are strong and shiny, just like real gels.
L’oreal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar solution £4.99
I’d heard a lot of good things about this product and struggled to get hold of it for a while, so whilst browsing my local Boots store the other week I silent squealed in delight that I’d finally found it. Yes I am that sad.
This had not disappointed. As you can see I’ve already used quite a bit of this. It has slotted right into my night time routine and I’m not sure I could be without this product now. It claims to dissolve make up, unclog pores, remove impurities and tone and sooth skin. While I’m not sure it does it all, it is great at cleansing my skin and removing my make up. Though it does have trouble removing all of my mascara, but this could be that I’m using a pretty stubborn mascara at the moment!
YSL Babydoll Mascara £24.50
Introducing the stubborn mascara! I’ve been a big fan of the Benefit They’re Real Mascara for a long time, but I recently decided to try this YSL Babydoll mascara after hearing good things about it, and I have to say that I am convert.
I honestly didn’t think that I’d be able to find another mascara that would add the same kind of length and volume effect to my lashes but this one is very impressive. The rubber brush is smaller than the other YSL mascaras that I’ve used, but this was so easy to get into the corners of my eyes for the small awkward hard to reach lashes and will two coats, my lashes looked long and voluminous.
For me, the best thing about this mascara is that the results last for the whole day. The product doesn’t flake or cause my lashes to appear dry and clumped together. The only downside, which I’ve already touched on, is that it’s not the easiest of mascaras to remove.
Urban Decay Naked Palette £37
I’ve lusted after this palette for so long so when Debenhams offered certain cult beauty products at Duty Free prices, I couldn’t resist.
I mean this how you do a neutral palette. Far from being boring, the palette features pale champagne shades to gritty gunmetal.
I love the mix of matte and shimmery shades and my two favourites are definitely ‘Sidecar’ and ‘Smog. I wear these together with gel eye liner for a great everyday look.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in ‘Soft & Gentle’
I featured this in my MAC Haul post but I love it so much that it had to be included as an August favourite. Honestly, since I’ve brought this, I’ve worn it everyday and received so many compliments from people saying how good my skin looks.
This product is perfect for giving a natural glow across the cheekbones that is perfect for a day or evening look. I find the best brush to use with this is the Real Techniques Blush Brush, it’s so big and soft and picks up enough product to swirl over the cheeks for a gorgeous glowy look.
What are your August favourites?
